The gap we chose to address
Engine Forgehub began with a recurring observation among newly arrived colleagues in Frankfurt: people could complete an app lesson yet still feel unprepared when a cashier asked whether they wanted a receipt. Their problem was not effort. It was sequence. They needed numbers and repair phrases before rare vocabulary, and listening tolerance before perfect sentences.
Our work is deliberately narrow. We help adults decide which German deserves attention around a move and rehearse the ordinary exchanges that make a place begin to feel navigable.
Who leads the sessions
Leonie Hartmann leads consultations and speaking rehearsals. She has worked in adult German-language education and newcomer orientation in the Rhine-Main region for nine years. Her practice draws on plain-language teaching, scenario rehearsal and the Common European Framework as a reference—not as a reason to push every client through the same syllabus.
Administrative support is provided by Samir Bell, who coordinates appointments and prepares accessible session materials. Neither role includes legal advice, sworn translation or official integration-course certification.
How we work
We begin with context: where you will live, who you need to speak with, and what a difficult exchange would cost in time or confidence. Then we reduce. A useful plan is not the longest list; it is the smallest set of language that helps you act, listen and ask for clarification.
Our values are candour, practical relevance and respect for adult learners. We will say when a formal course, professional interpreter or migration adviser is the better next step.
